Since we weren't going to get a great deal on a year old coach, we would prefer to buy our rig from Lazydays, but they don’t carry Itasca. However, they do carry Winnebago which has the same coach – 34Y. So off we went to the Winnebago section to look at color schemes, dinettes and other details.
the salesman who sold Gin and Syl their new Journey.
We started asking questions and some he couldn’t answer.
He rounded up a Winnebago factory rep
and
We all sat down and 2 1/2 hours later
we had selected all the options we wanted,
negotiated the price and trade-in of our Pleasureway
and ordered our NEW HOME...
A Winnebago Journey 34Y, Diesel Pusher!!!
WOW!!
What a week!!
We are THRILLED!!
Right after we left the Lazydays tent,
we turned the corner and walked right into
Peggy and Gary, RV-Dreamer friends.
We got to share our excitement with them
and
they wished us the best!!
We were walking towards the exit when
we heard...
"There's Papaw!!!"
What perfect timing!!
Coming towards us were Howard and Linda Payne,
the founders of RV-Dreams.
They really were mentors to us and many others.
They just smiled and gave us a great big hug!!
I think they were almost as happy as we were :o)))
Since there wasn’t a 34Y on the grounds,
I couldn’t take photos to show you.
We are getting a booth dinette and not the TV Buffet.
We are getting a King Sleep Number Bed, not the queen.
We are NOT getting a washer and dryer
and
our colors are a little different,
but it will give you an idea of what we are getting.
Here is the floor plan.
Here is the exterior color scheme we picked.
Winnebago told us our coach would be ready about the second week of March (8 weeks). Our last day in our home is March 27th so we are cutting it close. Oh well, we will deal with that when the time comes.
Friday the 13th was a lucky day for us and we are really close to going “Full-time” in a couple months!! Nancy and I gave each other a big hug, let out a sigh of relief, and realized a sense of accomplishment – it’s all falling into place :o))))
Now we can really enjoy vacation!! After all, Nancy is going to retire from Home Depot when we return. She will give her two weeks notice and you guessed it… Her last day will be the 13th of February!!
I’m starting to REALLY like the number 13 as well ;o)))
I'm so glad to hear about your new home!! It's beautiful! Everything is working out perfectly. I think you should name it 'Lucky' ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! We have friends who have a similar coach. They removed that single chair next to the sofa bed and replaced it with a computer workstation. May you guys have the best of times and travels in your new home.

ReplyDeleteWe are so happy for you two. Soon you will be on the road and having a great time as fulltimers. It looks like a great new home for the road. We hope to see you sometime soon.
Congratulations on the new coach! We have a Winnebago with the dinette. After five years we are still happy with that choice.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. Your coach is beautiful. Can't wait to see you in it on the road.
ReplyDeleteFriday the 13th was good for us too since we signed the papers on Tawanda then. It's great that you are getting a special order with your choices. I hope that you empty out the house before you come down to pick it up in March because Lazy days makes sure that everything is just right before you leave. We are happy for you two!

ReplyDeleteGlad to see you've let everyone know about your new home. It's just what I'd get right down to the colors if I were forced to give up Winnona. Can't wait to see it in person. Hope we'll meet up again in March so I can. We sure do miss you!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Love it! Best wishes for two of the nicest folks we've met on the road. How long will you be at Rainbow Springs? (saw it on Sherry's blog).
ReplyDeleteAdding my hearty congrats and best wishes for safe travels and many adventures. I'm going to miss the Pleasureway photos. We're going to spend six weeks in our Pleasureway in Texas (South Padre NS, Big Bend NP and biking in the Hill Country. By the time we get back home (Iowa) I'll be wishing for 14 more feet of room!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. We love the 34y. It is a great choice.
