(Photo Intensive Post!!)
We are camped right along the Intercoastal Waterway and are hoping to get to kayak while we are here. However, today the winds were blowing…no kayaking today;o(( Forecast is the same for tomorrow, so we will hike the Awendaw Passage section of the Palmetto Trail.
Today, we just got settled and hung out at the campground. We have had several requests for a photo tour of Buck Hall. Nancy walked the grounds and took a bunch of photos. Sherry, this is for you:o))
Buck Hall is located on Hwy 17, 34 miles south of Georgetown and 28 miles north of Charleston, SC.

The lay of the land…we are in Site 9.

These were brave or crazy kayakers. The winds were 20 plus miles per hour today!!! Add that to the tidal waters and it could be a real difficult paddle ;o((
GO Right to the campground
All sites are paved, flat, long with 50 amps and water!!
We are on Site 9
The Verizon MIFI is strong and HD antenna reception is excellent. Bill is catching up on the golf tournament;o))
The RV sites with the best view of the waterway are 12, 13, and 14. This photo was take at site 13.
The very BEST views
However, there really is not a bad site in the campground:o))
The dump station is easy access!!
Our first impression is this is a wonderful spot to camp. What’s not to like?!?! Clean, quiet, pretty and well maintained campground with all the things we enjoy!! The fact that it is only $10 per night with our Senior National Park Pass makes this a no brainer;o))
Thanks for the outstanding review! We had considered stopping there ourselves earlier in the year. During the last few years, we have spent a good amount of time volunteering over at Congaree National Park (outside of Columbia) and Buck Hall has been on our radar since it is fairly close by. We are huge fans of National Forest campgrounds (Ocean Pond in northern FL, etc).

Nice park! Bill looks nicely relaxed out there watching the golf match. Another place for our list :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the area! Hope you get to go kayaking!
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love your new freedom? Enjoy this peaceful place.
ReplyDeleteLooks like our kind of place...small with trees and water. What more could you want? And the price is definitely right :)
ReplyDeleteAnother great place to visit. I'm getting writer's cramp from writing down all the must sees that you're finding for us.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much you guys. It looks great and what a price. Now I can see why I hven't been able to get a spot there for a week. Although since you did, maybe I was just at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteHmmm Bill, is that the same TV you told them to take out since you would never use it? LOL
What a great campground!
ReplyDeleteToo bad they don't have more campsites. I'm sure it would still fill up even if it was 40 sites. Enjoy relaxing under the trees.
