A Good Wrapping Day–Monday–December 17, 2012

We knew today was going to be a rainy day so Nancy planned to wrap Christmas presents.  We have tried hard to take the commercialism out of Christmas.  It’s become our tradition to buy small presents for the grandkids and a few “gag” gifts.  I mean, Christmas wouldn’t be the same without PEZ;o))

Our real focus is enjoying our time together with family!!

That being said, we still needed to wrap those small items.  Nancy did the wrapping and I filled out the gift tags, cards and made sure the Christmas music was playing!!  My major job was to go to the post office and ship our son and DIL’s card and small gifts.  Yeah, I know, it is the busiest day of the year at the post office;o((

We had wonderful entertainment all day as we work on our wrapping.  Outside our dinette window, we have hung a bird feeder.  We were entertained most of the day watching this crazy squirrel.  We tried to scare him off.  We sprayed the water hose at him.  We banged the window and hollered!!  Finally, we just gave up and watched this truly determine squirrel.

The campground is very quiet this time of the year.  The only occupants are camp hosts and a few grandparents here to visit family over the holidays.  The campground is only about 20% full despite the fact they offer a special price of $300+tax for the month.  We are enjoying the peace and quiet:o))

Tomorrow we plan to make a shopping run.  Nancy needs to pick up ingredients to make some items for Christmas Dinner at our daughter’s.  This will be the first year she hasn’t cooked the full turkey dinner. She has passed the baton to Julie, but will still make the stuffing and coleslaw;o))  We are looking forward to heading to Raleigh on Sunday and spending time with everyone!!!!

  7. The squirrel cracked me up! We have 2 that love to jump out of the tree, onto our roof, and race each other from front to back. This goes on several times a day. Maybe I need to put out a bird feeder to keep them otherwise occupied :)

  8. That squirrel sure is a "swinger"! They sure are determined animals around bird feeders. Somebody needs to tell him he's not a bird. ;c)

That is a great monthly price at HBSP. Wish we could get that price here where we are. :c(
