All's Well - Thurday - March 29, 2012

Nancy here:

Just wanted to let you know that all is well... just haven't had time to blog;o))  However, I finally did a long, photo intense blog about the new motorhome.  I wrote it in Live Writer and uploaded it as a draft to blogger.  Well, blogger would not save it, so I could not post it.  I kept getting a "illegal  forms error cannot save" message... something about a missing tag?!?!?  I have no idea what that error is...HELP!!

I tried to post it directly from Live Writer and thought that was the answer.  I got the same message;o((

So, I need to redo the blog unless someone can tell me how to fix that error :o)))

The motorhome is almost finished with the SPA and we should be heading back towards Myrtle Beach on Friday and arriving on Sunday.  In the meantime, I will try to get the motorhome blog posted so you can see how pretty our little lady looks!!!

Here's a Sneak Peak;o))

  2. Sounds like an html problem. I'm no expert mind you ... but let me see if I can explain. Although writing the post in Live Writer, or even in Blogger, might seem like straightforward typing, there's html behind it (you can see what I mean by looking at your post in LW on the "Source" tab at the bottom of the screen or looking at your post in Blogger in HTML instead of Compose).

The tags are enclosed with the triangular brackets ("<" and ">" -- no quotes, but I had to put them here so Blogger wouldn't read them as html tags). In both LW and Blogger, these tags are added behind the scenes, so you're not even aware they exist. If you have a tag at the beginning of a text, you must have a closing tag at the end.

From the error message, it sounds like you are missing one of those tags. It's easy to delete them when you go back to re-edit your draft unless you're working in the html edit window.

If you go to your HTML tab in Blogger and try to publish the post, perhaps Blogger will hi-lite where the error is and you can try to fix it. (See this site for a few sample tags ... every time I try to put a sample here, the comment doesn't post ... http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_intro.asp)

Again, I'm no html export, but if you want to email me your LW file, I can take a look and see if I can figure something out to save it. My email address is in my profile.

  3. I was wondering how you were making out. We had taken our trailer to Long View right by Lazy Days on Monday, and I was wondering if you were still there! Have a safe trip back to S.C.!

  4. Darn! I was hoping posting it directly would work. Erin knows all about these things so she's probably right but HTML makes my eyes cross. :-)

Can't wait until later today to get more than a "sneak peak"!!

SO good to see you yesterday. Blog coming very soon about our adventures or should I say your "adventure".

  5. Well, here's an even stranger thing. I read most my blogs in Google Reader. Then, if I want to leave a message I go to the actual blog. Yesterday, your "photo intense" motorhome blog came through on my Reader just fine. I read the whole thing (twice), then went to your site to leave a comment and it was gone. I assumed you removed it to make a change. How weird is that??? I still have it pulled up in another window so I know I didn't dream it :)
I can't fix that for you, but I can tell you she's a beauty!
PS-On those occasions where I've gotten errors and my blog wouldn't post, I've rebooted my computer and whatever was wrong corrected itself. It might be worth a try :)

  6. Pretty much the same as Gail. Gin reads a few blogs on her i-pad using Flipboard and your post showed up last night. The pics and words were a little jumbled up though.
She sure is pretty and the storage is well organized. Tawanda really wants to meet her cousin some time soon. Travel safe.

  7. All this computer stuff confuses me, too. I can't even spell HTML, let alone use it!

Nice wood color on those cabinets. Great choice. :c)
