Confused Cactus - Thursday - February 24, 2011

Back in November,
I shared a photo of my "Christmas" Cactus
 blooming at Thanksgiving???

Well, I was informed that there is a variety of Cactus
called Thanksgiving Cactus.
I assumed I had a Thanksgiving Cactus
and not
a Christmas Cactus.

Well, now what...
it is February and the Cactus is blooming AGAIN!!

Oh well, it made me smile and reminded me to

"ENJOY THE JOURNEY!!"

  2. Ok, so maybe it's a Valentine Cactus! Or, maybe it's just trying to be a more generic, politically correct 'holiday cactus'.

We have similar wierdness going on. Sox, being in all this lovely Arizona weather has decided to blow her winter coat about 3 months early -- she will be sorry when we get back to Illinois a month from now and wish she had that coat back!

  3. Haha! Plants/flowers have a mind of their own, don't they?

  4. Mine never blooms at Christmas or Thanksgiving. It seems to have a mind of its own and blooms whenever it very well wants. Which this year is right now. Are you taking yours with you??

  5. We are enjoying the "Journey" and hope that you find one to enjoy soon, too!

Your cactus should be glad it lives in your house, if it was in my house, it wouldn't be blooming, it'd be dead. I have quite the brown thumb...

  6. Sherry,
Since I will have limited space, I will just make room for fresh herb plants. The cactus will be going to live at my mother's. She has been hinting for a long time that she really would like to have it!
