Aunt Marge is visiting! - Friday, Oct 1, 2010

We’ve had a busy week and are a little behind in our blog posts. Last Saturday, Nancy’s mother’s best friend Marge flew in from Philadelphia for a week’s stay with mom. Their close friendship spans well over 60 years and we “kids” have called her Aunt Marge ever since I can remember. She’s not our biological Aunt, but she’s as close to family as you can get.
Aunt Marge’s positive attitude and friendliness with everyone she meets is contagious. Her outgoing personality was a welcome addition to Mom Watson’s normally quiet home. With Aunt Marge around there’s always lots of laughs.
The two of them obviously had a great time going for walks, playing cards and bingo, shopping and generally recalling all the good times they’ve had in the past. You can tell by the smiles on their faces that they really enjoy each other.

The Big "Loser"

The Big "Winner"

Nancy went down to Mom’s apartment and had lunch with them on Tuesday. As expected, she snapped a few pictures with her new camera, a Nikon D3000. She tells me she has a lot to learn about all the features and operation of the camera, but the pictures look great to me.

Tonight we asked our good friends Bill & Chris to join Aunt Marge, Nancy’s Mom, Nancy and I for dinner. We were taking Nancy’s mom out to celebrate her birthday, which is on Monday. Nancy has to work Monday night, so we celebrated tonight. We went to a nice fish house named Phillips Seafood in Myrtle Beach and had a wonderful meal. The seafood was terrific, as were the laughs we had.
Happy Birthday Mom!!
